Clearly Clinical and Clearly the Podcast You Need as a Mental Health Professional
In between setting your intentions for the new year, signing up for that gym contract (which you know that you’ll stop using come February, right?), and deciding on your schedule for 2022, why not consider a few free continuing education certificate courses for next year?
As you know, we’ve got the whole working out your credits, licensing board requirements, and continuing education status covered with our App. So we thought that now would be a good time to help you make 2022 the year for more personal and professional growth. As a mental health professional, you know just how important it is to stay updated with new findings and treatment methods. You also know just how overwhelming and cluttered that space can get with the sheer volume of resources and courses out there.
In keeping with our ethos of getting things done more efficiently, we’ll be sharing our top finds for free continuing education certificate courses with you over the next few months. Of course, we’ll still be sharing each state’s licensing requirements, so keep an eye out for all our articles planned for 2022.
Clearly Clinical – Free Podcast Continuing Education Certificate Courses
Co-developed by Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Irias, MS, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; Stephen Winston, PhD, a licensed Clinical Psychologist; and Dolores Gonzales, a licensed Clinical Social Worker, Clearly Clinical is the USA’s premier CE provider. It offers continuing education certifications that are “meaningful, convenient, diverse, and affordable.” According to Beth, “continuing education shouldn’t have to be expensive to be good”, and Clearly Clinical has been built firmly on this premise with the focus being on helping you “learn, grow and shine” – perfect for 2022, we think!
Current Continuing Education Certificate Topics
To give you an idea of what to expect, here are a few courses currently available on their podcast, with each course offering free continuing education credit (as of December 2021):
- “Creating an Ethical, Impactful Presence Outside the Therapy Room, from Books to Social Media to Podcasting.” – hosted by Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, PSY, the prolific host of the Therapy for Black Girls Podcast.
- “The Science of Suffering and Moving Forward – The Pandemic and Beyond.” – hosted by Dr. Daryl Van Tongeren and Sara Showalter Van Tongeren, LCSW.
- “Healing Invisible Wounds: Working Through Past Sexual Trauma in Relationships.” – hosted by Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman.
- “Providing Inclusive, Respectful Care to Your Gender Questioning, Transgender, & Nonbinary Clients.” – hosted by Dara Hoffman-Fox, LPC.
- “When Client/Therapist Values Clash: The Diversity Training EVERY Clinician Needs Right Now.” – hosted by Lambers Fisher, LMFT.
- “Lifting Black Voices: Therapy, Trust, and Racial Trauma.” – hosted by Dr. Tiffany Crayton, LPC-S, La Shanda Sugg, LPC, and L.J. Lumpkin, LMFT.
How Continuing Education Credits Work With Clearly Clinical
Much like us at CE Hub, Clearly Clinical keeps things simple. To receive your continuing education credit hours, you either need to be enrolled in one of their free courses or purchase an annual membership. You get to choose from a comprehensive list of courses with new courses added regularly. Listen to the audio associated with your chosen CE course (available as a download, or via ApplePodcasts, Spotify, or Google), and then take the associated course test. Once you’ve received a passing grade of at least 80% (you can re-test), all that’s left is for you to complete the course evaluation. Your CE certificate will automatically be added to your account.
Each course is eligible for one CE credit hour, and each of the podcast episodes is around 60 to 65 minutes long. To be eligible to receive CE credit for any of the ‘not free’ CE courses, you must hold a CE membership (which is super affordable; may we add). Most of the courses on offer are eligible for CE credit with all CE approval bodies, and to give you extra peace of mind, Clearly Clinical is an approved continuing education provider with the APA, NBCC, ASWB, NAADAC, CAMFT, and CCAPP.
Lastly, one of the other reasons we love Clearly Clinical is because it’s women-owned and founded, something we proudly share in common, with Lani Chin as our founder.
